Biz Women Awards – Terms and Conditions last updated on 20/06/25
By participating in the Biz Women Awards, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:
You can nominate as many individuals as you like.
Nominations can be made for females who work within organisations or run their own businesses.
All nominations are subject to internal review by the Biz Women Awards team.
Submission of a nomination does not guarantee that the nominee will be officially recognised, published, or advanced within the awards process. Recognition of nominees is at the sole discretion of Biz Women Awards.
Award participants and attendees have to be 18+ years old.
If a nominee does not engage with the awards process (e.g. fails to respond to communication or complete required forms), Biz Women Awards reserves the right to disregard the nomination.
You may enter yourself or be nominated.
You can place one application in as many relevant categories as you wish, treating it as a single application with multiple category entries.
Entrants are required to submit a professional head-and-shoulders photograph in full colour along with a company logo.
By submitting these images, you grant permission for their use in marketing materials if your application is successful.
Submitted images should be high resolution and appropriate in content. Inappropriate or low-quality images will be rejected.
Image submissions cannot be changed after submission.
The Business Description provided in your application will be used for promotional purposes on the website if you advance to the finals.
You cannot modify your Business Description after submission.
By participating in the Biz Women Awards, including attending the ceremony or any associated activities, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded by the Biz Women Awards team, official photographers, videographers, or affiliated sponsors.
These images and recordings may be used in marketing, press, social media, promotional materials, and future event coverage by Biz Women, Biz Women Awards, or their partners and sponsors.
If you do not wish to be included in media coverage, you must notify the organisers in writing before the event. However, we cannot guarantee exclusion from wide-angle group shots or footage taken during the public event.
By entering the awards, you agree to have your email address added to the awards e-letter and also our main platform email BizWomen.org. This is important for staying informed about relevant awards information.
Your information will not be shared with third parties. All judges will access this information as part of the application process.
All applications will undergo a shortlisting process.
A panel of judges will individually and confidentially review the shortlisted applications and select finalists.
The judges aim to select 6 finalists per category, but this number may vary depending on the quality of entries.
Successful finalists will be interviewed by the judging panel, either in person or via an interview form, depending on the process selected for that year.
Judges will use a set of predefined questions for all finalists.
Scores from judges are confidential and will not be disclosed to finalists.
Judges’ decisions are final.
Failure to complete the interview process may lead to disqualification from the competition.
Scores and feedback from the interviews will not be provided to finalists.
If you are selected as a finalist, you will be notified via telephone or email.
Accepting this nomination obligates you to complete the awards process, including the interview and attendance at the ceremony.
Once accepted, press releases are submitted to local press, and this cannot be withdrawn.
If a nominee or potential finalist does not express interest, engage, or respond to communications within a reasonable timeframe, Biz Women Awards reserves the right to withdraw or withhold finalist status.
Finalists are strongly encouraged to attend the awards ceremony for its full duration to fully enjoy and participate in the event.
If you are unable to attend the entire event, please notify us in advance. Exceptions for partial attendance may be made in certain cases.
Public voting may be used in some categories, with measures in place to ensure fairness.
Votes combined with judges’ scores will determine winners.
Judges’ decisions are final.
Applications are treated confidentially.
Feedback will not be provided for unsuccessful applications.
Biz Women Awards reserves the right to withdraw or disqualify any nomination at its discretion, should it deem necessary.
Reasons for withdrawal or disqualification may include, but are not limited to, violations of these terms and conditions, inaccuracies in the nomination, or behaviours inconsistent with the spirit of the Biz Women Awards.
The panel may, at its sole discretion, choose to provide or withhold specific reasons for withdrawal or disqualification.
Biz Women Awards’ decisions in this regard are final and not subject to appeal.
Biz Women Awards reserves the right to remove any participant from the awards process at any stage, for any reason deemed appropriate by the panel, including but not limited to breaches of terms, inappropriate behaviour, or conduct not aligned with the values of the awards.
The panel may or may not provide specific reasons for such decisions.
This decision is final and not subject to appeal.
If a finalist or winner does not attend the Biz Women Awards ceremony, the Biz Women Awards team is under no obligation to present or send the award. Attendance at the ceremony is a key requirement to receive the award and participate in the celebration of achievements.
If a finalist is unable to attend and informs the Biz Women Awards team in advance, we reserve the right to remove them from the competition. This allows another potential winner the opportunity to participate fully in the awards and the event.
Tickets purchased for the Biz Women Awards are non-refundable. This policy applies to all ticket types, including general admission, discounted tickets, and dinner-inclusive tickets.
In the event of an unforeseen cancellation or postponement of the event by the organisers, tickets may be transferred to a rescheduled date or refunded at the discretion of the Biz Women Awards team. However, no refunds or transfers will be issued for individual non-attendance.
If you wish to file a formal complaint regarding the Biz Women Awards process, please submit your complaint in writing to Complaints@bizwomen.org.
Complaints must include your full name, contact information, and a detailed description of the issue.
All complaints will be reviewed, and a response will be provided after the review is complete.
Decisions regarding complaints are final and not subject to further appeal.
By submitting a nomination, completing an interview form, purchasing a ticket, or engaging in any way with the Biz Women Awards — including through our website, email communications, or social media platforms — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
This applies to nominees, nominators, finalists, winners, guests, and any individuals participating in or engaging with the Biz Women Awards process.
Biz Women Awards reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee from the event at any time, including individuals who have purchased tickets, for reasons including but not limited to:
Disruptive, inappropriate, or disrespectful behaviour
Threats to the safety, comfort, or enjoyment of other guests
Prior conduct inconsistent with the values or reputation of Biz Women
Breach of these Terms and Conditions or any other event-related policies
This right applies to all guests, including nominees, finalists, winners, sponsors, and members of the public.
The decision to refuse or revoke entry is at the sole discretion of the organisers and is final.
Where applicable, a refund may or may not be issued, depending on the nature of the circumstances and at the sole discretion of the Biz Women Awards team.
Biz Women Awards is not obligated to provide justification for refusal or removal but will act in accordance with the best interests of the event and its participants.
